The wellhead flowing pressure was 5,033 psi on a 38/64 inch choke. The flow is limited by test string capacity.
Under normal production completion, the well is estimated to flow at a significantly higher rate that could reach at least 80 million cubic feet of gas per day.
Three more Khuff reservoirs (Khuff-B, C and D) remained to be evaluated and tested by this well, where logs indicate hydrocarbon bearing reservoirs of excellent quality, expected to flow at at least a similar rate when tested. The pre-Khuff clastics is also a target in this well and will be penetrated and evaluated.
Karan-6 is located in an offshore area, about 160 kilometers north of Dhahran.
Abd Allah S. Al-Saif, senior vice president of Exploration and Producing, expressed his thanks for the efforts of all the teams that made this important discovery possible.
